Meet the Doctor

Dr. Steven G Beals, ODDr. Steven G Beals is a native of Montevideo. Dr. Beals graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA in 1983 with a BA degree and a pre-optometry emphasis. He played on the mens tennis team for 4 years, earning 4 letters, and was the teams MVP his senior year. In 1988 he graduated from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL. Dr. Beals is certified and licensed by the International and Minnesota Boards of Optometric Examiners in the treatment and management of ocular disease.

Following graduation, Dr. Beals moved back to Montevideo and took over his father, Dr. Roger Beals’, optometry practice. Beals Optometry was started by Dr. Roger Beals in 1963. Dr. Beals strives to maintain a caring, friendly, family atmosphere at Beals Optometry.  He takes pride in taking the time to explain his findings to all his patients.

Dr. Beals and his wife, Lisa have six children, Andrew, Nick, Eric, Carly, Ben and Jack. Dr. Beals serves on a number of local boards and on the Minnesota State High School League Board of Directors, as a Governor’s appointee. He enjoys spending time with his family, fantasty football, and golf.
